AdRefiner's working modes
Mode 0 (stand-by mode)
Mode 1 (cover mode)
Mode 2 (curtain mode)
Mode 3 (static tracking)
Mode 4 (dynamic tracking)
Mode 0: (stand-by mode) aka : "Give me
back my Shift and Ctrl"
Stands-by.
Switch AdRefiner to this mode if you need to use Shift and Ctrl for typing
and navigation.
Note: Author of AdRefiner has made this application
for personal use (also), and he is aware that there must be some better combination
of keys. If you have suggestion about keys please write at adrefiner at
ptt.rs with subject "Keys proposal".
Mode 1: (made for old computers)
This is manual mode, which allows user
to create one cover window.
Procedure: Position cursor (mouse) at
desired top left point, press shift,
position cursor at desired bottom right
point, press shift and cover window
will appear. Press shift again and
cover window will disappear.
Mode 2: (Useful for some sites)
This is manual mode, which allows
user to control two curtain windows.
Procedure: Press shift and curtain
windows will appear. Those windows
then can be resized with mouse,
simply by clicking and dragging to
desired size. On next shift pressed windows will disappear. But position
will be remembered and on next shift
curtain will be restored.
Mode 3: (Preview of mode 4)
This is automatic mode. In this mode
AdRefiner automatically tracks animations
on yours desktop and creates cover windows
for each of them.
Procedure: Press shift to stop tracking,
press shift to start tracking. Indication
is in tray icon (near clock). Green '3'
indicates tracking and red '3' indicates no
tracking. Press ctrl to destroy all (if any)
cover windows.
Mode 3 is 'static tracking mode' which means
that AdRefiner, in this mode, can not move cover
windows as you scroll web page.
For this mode calibration is recommended. After
calibration AdRefiner can fully recognize
browsing area.
Note: Core algorithm is same as in
mode 4.
Mode 4: (AdRefiner mode)
This is automatic mode. In this mode AdRefiner
is fully functional and does (what his name
stands for) refine ads. I.e. Tracks and covers
animated ads while you using yours browser.
Procedure: Press shift to stop tracking, press
shift to start tracking. Indication is in tray
icon (near clock). Green '4' indicates tracking
and red '4' indicates no tracking. Press Ctrl
to destroy all (if any) cover windows.
Mode 4 is 'dynamic tracking mode' which means
that AdRefiner, in this mode, can move cover
windows as you scrolling web page (with mouse
wheel). It also recognizes mouse click (on that
event all cover windows are removed).
For this mode calibration is required. After
calibration AdRefiner can fully recognize
browsing area.
AdRefiner's Options (user's guide)
"Find optimal settings for my computer" is next step in development of
AdRefiner, and it is in progress. At this stage of development all options
are unlocked. User can set AdRefiner's options manually if default setting
are "not good solution" for his/hers computer. For average user these
explanations should be quite useful. For those who wants to understand how
core algorithm works, technical explanation will be on this site, soon.
